COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

One of the most important responsibilities of United Way of Henderson County is Community Investment.  As fiduciaries of pledged donor dollars, it is important that we make sure we are providing funding to programs and services addressing the most critical needs of our community.  In 2006, United Way of Henderson County gathered together 28 focus groups from diverse populations in Henderson County to discuss the needs of our community, what needs were being met, and which ones were not, or, could be addressed better.  Voices is a result of those focus group sessions.  By listening to community service providers, educators, city and county government, church communities, senior citizens, youth groups, health providers, retirees, parents, persons seeking assistance, and other persons wishing to be heard, we were able to compile a needs assessment report that offers to the public an indepth blueprint of the critical needs of our community, suggestions on possible ways to address those needs, and follow up information.

The Voices needs assessment is available to the general public.  Please feel free to download your copy of Voices.
