EDUCATION FOCUS AREA
The Education Focus Area is dedicated to helping children, youth, and adults reach their full academic and developmental potential from early learning through lifelong education. United Way invests in programs that create strong foundations for learning, support academic success, and open doors to future opportunity.
We fund programs that strengthen early childhood education, improve school readiness and achievement, and provide enrichment and mentorship beyond the classroom. These investments help learners build confidence, skills, and pathways to college, career, and lifelong success.
FUNDED PROGRAMS WORK TO:
- Support early childhood development and literacy
- Improve academic achievement and school readiness at all grade levels
- Provide out-of-school enrichment, tutoring, and mentorship
- Encourage high school graduation and post-secondary or career pathways
- Expand adult education and skill-building opportunities
United Way prioritizes restorative, long-term educational solutions that promote equity and measurable outcomes. Funded programs must demonstrate progress in learning, development, and opportunity for Henderson County residents.
