WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT FOCUS AREA
The Workforce Development Focus Area strengthens Henderson County by equipping individuals with the skills, training, and support needed for meaningful employment and career growth. United Way invests in programs that prepare people for today’s workforce and tomorrow’s opportunities.
We fund programs that provide job training, certifications, career readiness support, and wraparound services that remove barriers to employment. These investments help individuals build careers, not just find jobs.
FUNDED PROGRAMS WORK TO:
- Provide job training, certifications, and trade skill development
- Support career readiness through resumes, interviews, and professional skills
- Reduce employment barriers through transportation, childcare, and technology access
- Connect participants to employers, apprenticeships, and real-world experience
- Promote lifelong learning and career advancement opportunities
United Way prioritizes restorative, long-term workforce solutions with measurable outcomes. Funded programs must demonstrate job placement, retention, wage growth, and increased economic self-sufficiency for Henderson County residents.
