HEALTH FOCUS AREA
The Health Focus Area is centered on improving the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals and families across Henderson County. United Way invests in programs that ensure neighbors have access to the care, resources, and support they need to live healthier, more stable lives.
We fund programs that expand access to healthcare, mental health services, nutrition, hygiene, and other basic needs that directly impact quality of life. These investments help address both immediate health concerns and the underlying barriers that prevent long-term wellness.
FUNDED PROGRAMS WORK TO:
- Increase access to preventive care, medical treatment, and wellness services
- Expand mental health support, including counseling and crisis intervention
- Address basic needs that affect health outcomes, such as food security, hygiene, and stable housing
- Promote healthy behaviors through education, outreach, and community-based initiatives
United Way prioritizes restorative, sustainable solutions that strengthen individuals and families over time. Funded programs must demonstrate measurable health outcomes and a commitment to improving long-term health, equity, and stability for Henderson County residents.
